Get LIVE Evaluations from our Virtual Family Court Judges

Prepare for your family court case with a private, one-on-one evaluation from one of our experienced Virtual Family Court Judges. This unique opportunity allows you to present your case, receive expert feedback, and hone your courtroom presence from the comfort of your home.

We offer two distinct evaluation options. Both require you to be at your computer with your microphone enabled. For one of the evaluations, your camera will also need to be on. One of our evaluation options includes a follow-up phone call to schedule your session.

What to Expect During Your Evaluation

During your private session, the evaluating Judge will:

  • Ask you targeted questions about your case.
  • Require you to present your case summary.
  • Observe your demeanor, tone, presentation quality, and answers.

This is your chance to practice your case with a highly trained virtual Judge and gain invaluable experience and insights.

Step-by-Step Guide to Preparing for Your Evaluation

For the Litigant in Person: Steps to Follow

Step 1: Understand the Purpose of Your Evaluation

These evaluations are designed to assess your situation and provide the Judge with a clear understanding of your case. It’s an opportunity to present your facts, express your views, and become familiar with the types of questions you might face in a formal hearing.

Step 2: Prepare for Potential Questions

Anticipate the questions the Judge may ask. Common areas of inquiry include:

  • Your involvement in your children’s lives.
  • Your financial responsibility and stability.
  • Any concerns regarding the other party’s capabilities or behavior.
  • Why it benefits your child for you to have further contact.

We will also introduce false allegations (e.g., parental alienation, controlling behavior, domestic abuse, harassment) to further test your composure and ability to respond. Focus on formulating clear, honest responses while avoiding emotional outbursts or rambling.

Step 3: Rehearse Your Presentation

Practice delivering your case summary aloud. Consider using our virtual court environment to rehearse with friends or family members who can act as Judges and provide constructive feedback. Focus on staying calm, maintaining “eye contact” by looking into your camera, and remaining respectful throughout.

Step 4: Master Etiquette Procedures

Familiarise yourself with the structure of the evaluation process, including how to address the Judge and the typical flow of questioning. Understanding these procedures will help you feel more comfortable and demonstrate your preparedness to our virtual Judge.

Step 5: Manage Your Emotions

It’s natural to feel nervous or anxious. Practice stress management techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, before your evaluation. Our Judge will be observing your body language, tone, and demeanour, so a calm and composed presence is key.

Step 6: Attend Your Evaluation

– Log in to your Virtual Family Courtroom account.

Please arrive on time for your evaluation with your computer’s microphone and camera (if required for your chosen evaluation) enabled. Listen carefully to the Judge’s questions and answer thoughtfully. Remember to remain respectful and composed, regardless of the direction the conversation takes, as this is a crucial test of your readiness.

By following these steps, you will significantly enhance your effectiveness as a litigant in person for your real-life family court case.
